Tiburon's a great place for a day trip, when you've got parents visiting, or a date with whom you want to spend a leisurely morning. The Ferry ride from San Francisco offers outstanding views of the bay and it's bridges, Alcatraz and Sasualito. Once you're in Tiburon, there are several restaurants with water front views that serve decent brunches and sunset cocktails.
A quick stroll around town will run you by all the small shops, some a bit touristy, some more interesting - a vintage guitar shop, for instance. The town also has one of the most quaint old movie houses, the Tiburon Play House.
There are recreation areas and soccer fields on the western side of the peninsula, and some beaches and picnic areas on the eastern side, which fill up pretty quickly on warmer days. As well, the Tiburon Uplands Nature Preserve offers 24 acres of native plants and animals and views of the surrounding bay. You can also take the ferry to nearby Angel Island for hiking and camping with reservations.
Oh, and Tiburon's an incredibly beautiful place to live; both condos and palatial homes dot the hills if you've got at least a million to spare.
