San Anselmo

Tucked away in Ross Valley, San Anselmo makes it in to the paper most prominently, when its charming downtown commercial district floods.  In January and February, stores leave sandbags right outside their front doors - just in case the San Anselmo Creek flows over its banks.

You could almost miss San Anselmo, if you were to drive through the "HUB" - the major junction where Sir Francis Drake, Center Boulevard and Red Hill Avenue.  Folks heading west to the shore for the weekend would do well though, to stop off and have lunch or coffee at one of San Anselmo's numerous restaurants and cafes.  The town also hosts several major street fairs every year, including the Art and Wine Festival and Antiques fair.

Gorgeous views of Mt Tam and the rooftop of the San Francisco Theological Seminary make San Anselmo particularly picturesque.
